ANNOUNCES 2017 SCHEDULE

Bridge City, Texas.--Bridge City's head baseball coach Chad Landry announced the teams 33-game schedule for the 2017 season featuring match ups with some of the state's top teams as the Cardinals look to make a run at their 7th Consecutive District Title and 17th Consecutive Post Season Appearance.

"First and foremost, it's another really challenging schedule inside our district, but i feel like it's one that if we can prepare well enough in our non-district games, we can navigate our way to the top once again, 9th year Head Coach Landry said.  "Our schedule will also allow us to travel and play at some of the nicest facilities in the state, with Jasper and Cameron Yoe."

BC will get non-district test with Jasper (Regional Quarterfinalist, 2016) and Beaumont Kelly (State Semi-Finalist), and Tournaments at Cameron Yoe and Jasper. In total, 18 opponents are coming off playoff appearances from 2016.

The tournament schedule includes two trips to Jasper to play at their 1st class facility and a trip to Cameron, Tx.  Cameron Yoe recently upgraded their facilities with an 8 million dollar project.  The Cameron Tourney will be a dual site with Rogers, who also completed a new renovation with Turf and top notch amenities.

Once district play begins the Cardinals schedule does not get any easier.  Bridge City will open with a home game vs Silsbee (2016 Regional Quarterfinalist) and then will face LCM (2016 Regional Finalist). The Cards will then host West Orange-Stark (2016 Regional Quarterfinalist).  Hamshire-Fannett and Orangefield, who both appointed new Head Coaches, will follow.

"Our District is so tough, there isn't a night off and whoever ends up winning this thing will certainly deserve it.  We are working to win our 7th District Championship in a row.  Something that has never happened around here.  We have some experienced guys that will help our youngsters develop along the way, I'm excited and ready to go," Landry added.

The Cardinals regular season will come to a close on April 25 at Orangefield, with hopes of a 26th District Championship in school history.
